Tarleton State stuns Army with thrilling double OT win.
What a thrilling night for Tarleton State as Brad Larson nailed a clutch 37-yard field goal in double overtime, sealing a dramatic 30-27 victory over Army! This win marks just the second time the Texans have triumphed over an FBS team, breaking Army's impressive nine-game home winning streak. The game took a twist when Army's quarterback Dewayne Coleman left after an injury, leaving backup Cale Hellums to drive his team into field goal range. Unfortunately, freshman Dawson Jones missed the crucial 43-yard attempt in the final seconds of regulation. Despite both teams trading field goals in overtime, it was Larson's kick that clinched the victory for Tarleton. With standout performances from Victor Gabalis and Caleb Lewis, this was a game for the ages! Tarleton State now begins the young season with an impressive 2-0 record and stands as a formidable presence in FCS competition.
