Taylor beats Serrano by major decision in trilogy

Katie Taylor successfully defended her undisputed world super lightweight title by narrowly defeating Amanda Serrano in their trilogy match in New York.

In a thrilling night at Madison Square Garden, Katie Taylor edged out Amanda Serrano with a majority decision, two judges scoring it 97-93 for the Irishwoman, while the third had it even at 95-95. Though their third bout didn't quite match the electrifying heights of their previous encounters, it nonetheless delivered a gripping spectacle. Taylor exhibited clever strategy, managing her energy to pull ahead in the later rounds. Post-fight, the 39-year-old champion remained tight-lipped about her future, simply stating, “I just don’t want to fight Amanda Serrano again. She punches too hard.”
